NEW LABEL - 85th ANNIVERSARY SPECIAL TAWNY PORT.
New label design - 85th Special Tawny Port is a past Gold Medal winner in San Francisco. This is a new batch bottled port which is aged longer and quite like the past one that sold out a few years back.
Tasting notes: Classic tawny mellow chocolate brown flavours and smooth oak finish. Age blend ( %50 50 year old, %50, 10 / 15 year blends )

From our past vintage port releases ( 1990 - 2012 ), we bring you these special vintage years with new label design from the old cellar.
Tasting notes: The early vintage ports from these are quite rich mellow and well bodied, with chocolate nutmeg coffee flavours. The later ones then begin to be slightly lighter in weight / body, with fruit sweeter flavours of plum berry chocolate and bush fruit notes to finish on palate.

As from past vintages which where very popular, these new release Yellow Label wines have been made from selected vineyards, showing real fruit characters from classic Hawke’s Bay and Marlborough. Pinot Noir from Marlborough ( Gold Medal ) is really coming into its own like Central Otago. Its cherry red smooth tannin flavours and medium body have really developed in the winemaking over the past years.

From the outstanding ROYAL 40 YEAR OLD TAWNY PORT ( Gold Medal USA ) comes the latest release from this special tawny range. All ports have been aged in very old used Scotch whiskey oak casks, making these port wines complex with mellow notes of oak, walnut and dark chocolate to finish on palate. There can be no finer end to a meal than to linger over a glass of complex luxurious perfectly mature port wine. ( Created in conjunction with Royal Tours of New Zealand ).

SPECIAL MADEIRA PORT NV ( GOLD MEDAL SLOVENIA )
Simon Nash liked this port's nice density. There was, he said, a amber tinge edge to it. He also noted it as being creamy, with cafe au lait. It had a nice, cream caramel hint, with soft richness and good mid weight.
OLD TAWNY PORT NV ( GOLD MEDAL USA )
Simon liked the attractive caramel toffee notes. It was, he said, round, creamy and rich. There was a hint of burnt sugar, toffee apple and spice.
WHITE MUSCAT NV ( GOLD MEDAL USA )
Simon noted a vibrant nose. There was, he said, burnt toffee, a suggestion of citrus notes and caramelised orange.
